John Cervantes was elected to the Chino Valley Unified School District Board of Education in 2024. John was born and raised in Southern California and has been a Chino resident since 1990. John is married to his wife, Eva, and is a father and grandfather. Before serving on the school board, John served as a Police Officer with the Chino Police Department.

Throughout John’s law enforcement career, he served as a DARE Officer and School Resource Officer, contributing significantly to community programs and safety initiatives. John developed emergency plans for Chino Valley Unified District schools and led educational forums for parents on critical issues such as substance abuse and online safety. John also organized the Chino Police Department Summer Youth Camp to mentor students and promote leadership. In addition, John served the Chino American Little League as a baseball Manager, Coach, Board Member, and Vice President.

John represents the Chino Valley Unified School District as City of Chino Liaison, a Joint Meeting Representative with the City of Chino, and a County Committee on School District Organization Representative.
