Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behavior (MTSS-B) Program

The Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behavior (MTSS-B) Program is a comprehensive system, or framework, that is intended to proactively address the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional needs of students. This K-12 Intervention Counseling program is dedicated to the social and emotional growth and well-being of all students through the delivery of data-driven, school-based behavioral interventions and supports that encourage the development of motivated, self-confident, and life-long learners. 

 A District assigned K-12 Intervention Counselor is available to provide school-based counseling for students enrolled in a CVUSD school. Services consist of curriculum-based counseling for small groups and individual students. This individual can provide a referral for higher levels of service should the student require more intensive supports. For assistance, students can contact their school assigned K-12 Intervention Counselor.

Behavior Health Center

The CVUSD Behavioral Health Center serves as a contractor for the San Bernardino County Mental Health Department and provides counseling services to students within the district that currently have Medi-Cal.  Students who are referred to the CVUSD Behavioral Health Center will receive an assessment to determine the level of treatment needed.

Second Step

Second Step is an evidence-based Socio-Emotional Curriculum offered through Committee for Children. The Chino Valley Unified School District has been using this curriculum to support our students in TK through 8th grade classrooms since 2016.

In support of our ongoing commitment, CVUSD has partnered with Care Solace to provide an additional layer of care for our community. Care Solace assists individuals with finding mental health care providers and substance-use treatment centers.
