Staff is extremely excited to introduce a fresh new web browsing experience for its families, students and visitors. As you visit sites, you will find that generic information is listed on school homepages. As staff return to the office in July, information specific to school sites will be updated. Department webmasters are feverishly working to appropriately link and build pages. Please remember that this is a work in progress and edits are coming or underway. Bus Pass Information

2025/2026 Bus Passes

  • Beginning July 1, 2025, families are invited to complete and submit their Bus Pass Application.
  • Bus Pass purchases can ONLY be completed digitally. Walk-ins will be accepted.
  • If applying for a free or reduced bus pass, all required documentation (most current Cal Fresh Notice of Approval or 2024 Tax Return - Form 1040) must be emailed with a completed Bus Pass Application and emailed to Esmeralda_Contreras@chino.k12.ca.us or Blanca_Plascencia@chino.k12.ca.us. 

To complete your purchase online for a bus pass, please vist My School Bucks and follow the directions provided. Please do not send an application, the MySchoolBucks online purchase will suffice. Please make sure that your address qualifies for transportation before paying the fee.

Just a friendly reminder, intradistrict transfers do not qualify for busing and parents agree to provide transportation when a transfer is approved.  After making your purchase online, your bus pass will be mailed. Per Board Policy 3541(a) Transportation Routes and Services, “Students shall be eligible for transportation service to and from school if the distance between their residence and the school is beyond the minimum distances listed below:

  • Kindergarten    1½ miles from school
  • Grades 1-6         2 miles from school
  • Grades 7-8         3 miles from school
  • Grades 9-12      4 miles from school

All Students must have a current bus pass prior to boarding the bus. NO EXCEPTIONS.

School Bus Facts

On average, Chino Valley Unified School District drivers safely transport more than 570,000 students over 700,000 miles annually. The yellow school bus is without a doubt the single safest mode of transportation to and from school and school activities.

According to the National Safety Council, school buses are:

  • 172 times safer than the family car
  • 8 times safer than passenger trains
  • 8 times safer than scheduled airlines
  • 4 times safer than intercity transit buses
